We drove north from our hotel and reached Mount Rainier National Park in the afternoon. We decided to explore a little before setting up camp. We were scanning the skies for our first sight of the mountain. When we finally did spot the snow-covered peak, it was in amazing site.
Our first stop was at a waterfall called Narada Falls. It was a 168 foot waterfall and had a constant rainbow at the bottom while we were there.
Next we explored the Visitor Center and the 100 year old Paradise Inn. It was relaxing to sit in the big log chairs and listen to someone playing the piano.

The next day was rainy and cloudy, but we walked around Tipsoo Lake and drove up a very steep and windy road to the Sunrise Visitor Center.

We are enjoying Mount Rainier and also the time relaxing at the campsite.
On a different note, it’s been fun noticing the differences between the east and west coasts. For example, Oregon has only Full Service gasoline. Also throughout Washington and Oregon we have noticed an incredible number of tiny coffee shops. Even the smallest towns would have two, three or four of these spread out in various parking lots throughout town.
I’d love to see one of these in Colton. Anyone??? 🙂
