Waking up to the sound of the surf was wonderful!  The view from our tent was  so beautiful that we nestled into our bags enjoying the cool air and the tranquility.

Then all of a sudden the fog rolled in and we couldn’t see more than 50 feet. The outcroppings that lay just offshore were completely hidden.  We packed up our gear and hiked back to the car — a little sad to leave our beach but also looking forward to seeing Rob and Cathleen in Seattle later that night.
We took the long lazy scenic route around the western shore of the Olympic Peninsula through Olympia, Tacoma and on to Seattle.
Cathleen and Rob welcomed us into their new home with open arms, a yummy meal, and cold drinks.

With the kids hooked up with WiFi the grownups got to catch up up a little and also start to make plans for sightseeing in Seattle the next day.  Sleeping in a cozy bed sure feels great!
