Okay, so Sunday started off with us sleeping in. And by sleeping in I mean we were woken up at 8 🙂 After we woke up we had breakfast and got ready to go on our horseback ride all around where our little house was. The ride was led by the people who owned the house we were renting.
We walked down to the stables/tacking area for the horses, and got on our horses. Our guides name was Trace, and I just realized that rhymes with Grace…Haha. Throughout the trail ride, Trace was telling us about all the different movies that were shot right where we were riding! For example, movies like City Slickers 2, John Carter, Rio Grande, and Comancheros. Of course I got stuck on the most stubborn, annoying horse. Her name was Jasmine so you would think she’d be all sweet, right? Wrong. Very wrong. Jasmine had this thing with the trail, and by that I mean it seemed she couldn’t physically stay on it!! She was always going in the general direction of the group, but far away from the trail! Jasmine also kept trying to rub me off, on all the trees and bushes, no matter how hard I tried to steer her away. We were going down a thin part of the trail, down a hill that was in the movie Comancheros. Jasmine pushed me into the bush and kept walking and i got a rip in my shirt, hair, and saddle bag! So that was a fun time. Here’s a photo that Trace took of us on the trail.
I forgot to mention how Noah loved the fact that his horse was known as “the farting horse” and Noah also did everything in his power to go in the water and splash Jasmine and me. Hilarious. Now I’ll get to my getting attacked by a tree. When Jasmine still felt the need to get me off she plowed straight into a bush/tree thing and I got two giant holes in my pants and 3 long scrapes on my legs. (Sorry this photo’s kinda gross.)
I’m making the ride sound horrid but it actually was very fun, and we all enjoyed ourselves. Plus, I can now say I was in a fight with Wolverine. So there’s that! After the ride we walked back to our house, (you don’t know how many times I’ve messed up writing horse and house this post) and we just had a lazy afternoon. We played a few games of cards, and got packed for leaving Monday morning. I hope everyone is doing well! Thanks for reading 🙂
