Today was a travel day.
Last night we squeezed into a hotel room with only 2 queen beds. Those of you with 4 kids can appreciate that finding rooms big enough for all of us is not always possible. This room had this odd little walk-in closet and right away Noah said, “That’s my room!”
He set about unpacking his things and arranging his space. He shut the door and announced that people should knock before barging into his room. He loved it!
A couple of cute photos from the day:
The speed limits here are all crazy fast. 75 and 80 mph on roads with no divider and no shoulders that wind and dip and dive. On a highway in Utah this morning a large LED sign above the highway boasted “no fatalities for 3 of the last 7 days”. Talk about spin!
We had a long drive across Nevada and along the way we drove into this really strange sandstorm. It was kind of a surreal experience –bright blue skies above but a tan colored wall of sand all around us and the car buffeted in the gusting winds. Grace took some video that she will add into her vlog.
The highway (nicknamed the Extraterrestrial Highway because it runs along area 51) offered a few interesting and quirky sights.
Tomorrow we drive over the Tioga Pass and into Yosemite NP 🙂
